The season starts in September/October and continues until March 2011. So, we have exciting times ahead with purchase of a new kit, some good match-handballs etc. and last but not least, continue our training on Monday&rsquo;s at the Brentwood Leisure Centre! We will keep you posted on the games we will play, where and what time they will take place.  As soon as we get the league fixture for next season, it will be posted on this website. They visited Brentwood Handball Club and interviewed coach </span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; ">Hans-J&ouml;rg </span>K&uuml;ller Raba&ccedil;a<span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; ">, </span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; ">Chairman Mona Vaeremans and founding member Tom Smith. </span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; "><a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/essex/hi/people_and_places/newsid_8869000/8869186.stm" rel="external">Click here for the full article and video clip.</a></span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; "><br><br />For nearly half a century handball has struggled to maintain a presence in the UK.</span><span style="font:13px Verdana, serif; "> </span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; ">Thanks mainly to London 2012, the UK is beginning to recognise handball as a &lsquo;new&rsquo; credible, major sport and many well established nations are interested to see how the British apply the &lsquo;bulldog spirit&rsquo; to handball.<br>&nbsp;</span><span style="font:13px Verdana, serif; "><br /></span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; ">Again, it is the games&rsquo; Olympic status that is responsible for handball being included in the Change4Life Schools Sport Club (C4L) initiative which will be rolled out across the country during the forthcoming school year. English schools had the opportunity to choose from seven sports and over 400 elected to play handball.<br></span><span style="font:13px Verdana, serif; "><br /></span><span style="font:12px Verdana, serif; ">The increasing popularity of the game has encouraged seventeen Essex schools to form C4L handball clubs. It is no surprise therefore that all this interest has come to the attention of the County media and sporting bodies. There is now a growing enthusiasm and demand for Handball from schools, universities, community groups and individuals and it is essential that Handball seizes these opportunities to develop the sport.
